My name is Chris Lukenbaugh and I am
the owner and operator of Aquila. I have always
been a gun enthusiast and began coating guns and performing Gunsmith
services part time in 1991. Over the years, I have worked with a Class
1 machinist and learned a great deal. I realized that I could
utilize these skills to produce some of the most precision rifles and
pistols available. I have been applying various types of coating
systems since 1982 and in 1990 started doing small machining jobs for
a friend of mine that owned a machine shop where they produced high speed
turbine couplings. During that time period I decided to get an
accounting degree and have worked as a Credit Manager for various
companies including a Fortune 500 company.
I have now left the desk job and moved
on to producing high end hunting rifles and pistols full time. My
friend, the Class 1 machinist, now serves as our shop's consultant.
He ensures that we stay in tune with the latest techniques, tools and
materials.
I personally shoot and inspect every rifle
that leaves our doors. If it doesn't perform, it doesn't leave the
shop. When purchasing a rifle from Aquila, you can rest assured that
it is machined to exact tolerances and performs flawlessly.
Sincerely,
Chris Lukenbaugh

Our Name "Aquila"
Aquila means "Eagle" in
Latin.
"But those who hope in
the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like
eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be
faint."
Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
Aquila was
the name of a tentmaker who worked
(Acts 18:2-3)
and traveled (Acts
18:18) with Paul. Paul
praised Aquila and his wife, Priscilla for risking their lives for
him. (Romans 16:3-4)
